First off, make a list of each day...

I know, I know, I've just started cleaning my hurricanes, but I've been overwhelmed, depressed and I still don't have jack .

I did the following:

NUMBER ONE MOST IMPORTANT, ASSIGN SPECIFIC TIMES FOR COMPUTER AND STICK TO IT. IE...ONE HOUR IN MORNING, NAPTIME, AFTER DISHWASHER IS LOADED FOR THE NIGHT. THE ONLY TIME YOU GET TO "CHEAT" IS IF YOU HAVE FINISHED YOUR CHECKLIST/ITEM OF THE DAY!!! THIS IS HUGE HUGE HUGE AND IF YOU DON'T DO IT YOU WILL NEVER SUCCEED. Major major experience on this one. I mean major!

***Mop kitchen & dining area every Thursday. (only exception...if I got tired of stepping in something sticky)

~~Tip, I never walk around in socks or barefeet. Invest in a couple pairs of slippers..one on, one in the wash when needed. It helps to avoid dirty feet and aggervation...not to mention "keeps you on course"

***Vacc. one/two rooms (dining area exception for me right now...ewww...every other day right now) On ONE set day and NO other day.

***I'm lazy so unless I'm cooking something I put dishes away in the morning since I only run it every night..."green" thing. I rinse them and put them in the sink as I go (don't forget to take care of tippy's immediately or you get cottage cheese)

***Living room...I could give a about dust so I take care of it once a month. Other wise again I pick only ONE day to Vacc and kill the clutter. Pick up toys every day it helps when you can see the floor. As for "when" to pick up the floor, do it about 30 min before Tony gets home. All you need to do to feel better is have it cleaned, if only for ten minutes, once a day.

~~Tip, laundry basket in a corner in the living room or in my case one of those HUGE tubs...you can always paint it to match your decor...is EXCELLENT for stashing/tossing toys in~~

***Kitchen, thoroughly clean only once a week, minus everyday dishes and counters. (same day as mopping is what I prefer) Also, only do KILL YOUR SELF cleaning once every month or two and assign/tell Tony what HE has to do. Nothing says he can't scrub the base boards.

***Laundry...oh the evil laundry...I'm not like most people. I wash and dry on one day and fold on another day and put away the day after that. (for "hanger" stuff I just "stack" it until day three). I know spanning it out over three days can be frustrating but at least it isn't overwhelming. ***I DO NOT WASH CLOTHES THAT DON'T MAKE IT INTO THE HAMPER, I give ONE warning the morning before I start the laundry and if you miss TOUGH >>>>

When it comes to leaving his clothes around...throw it all on his computer desk. It may just end up on the floor, but at least it's in one spot.

***My Room, I've only seen (cept now, I don't have one) the tops of my dressers for about 10 minutes every once in a while. I leave it for my very LAST...if I feel like it room. However, make your bed every day right when you get up..oddly...you have a MUCH better day when you do it. (If Tony is in it TELL HIM TO DO IT WHEN HE GETS UP)

***Bathrooms...Ferrell does it the same way. Every other day I use handy dandy scrubbing bubbles..or the like..and "spot" clean. aka, wipe out the sink, around the toilet, and if in the mood clean the mirror (not generally in the mood) If you tend to fill the trash can in there, get a bigger one then have Tony take it out when it gets full. Then pick ONE day a week where you actually scrub it.

~~~Tip: You can pick up some CRAZY awesome cleaner that is non toxic for both you and Kiersten that can work on EVERYTHING and it does one of a job. It's called Seventh Generation. Someone around there should have it. Ther are no fumes and you even use it to mop. Not to mention it's "GREEN"

***Now for evil clutter (my "office" was once a month since it wasn't in the living room)...You know those cute little fabric bins you can find at Walmart or Target in all different colors, well set a "cute" one near/on a table OUT OF KIERSTEN REACH, and Toss all the "clutter" in it. Once a week get what you want out of it and have Tony go through the rest. Quit saving all the sweet cards..unless you physically put it in a shoe box without fail...you don't need magazines, unless you put them in a magazine holder (cheap purchase at wal mart). The adds etc. I mean honestly you don't need them. Toss them the second you get them from the mail. You aren't gonna buy any of it not to mention do you really have the money and will power to avoid the temptation? As for the "non-paper" clutter...get a bigger bin.

***Kiersten, same with her room, pick ONE day as for the baby proof...sorry honey, you're screwed. Invest in fridge locks...they work on more than the fridge...GREAT for the toilet. Check doors and see if you can hanger unlock them from the outside then keep a little hanger near the door and LOCK HER OUT (night time exception since when you gotta pee the last thing you want is to mess aroung in the dark)

By picking specific days for each thing, doing tiny little things here and there, like bed and toys, it keeps it from becoming overwhelming. Also, if Tony will clean IF you ask him to, leave him a SMALL ie one thing other the trash, written on a couple of notes. One for his computer, one for the front door, and if absolutely necessary on his stearing wheel. Don't forget to be specific. (put arrow pointing to back since you need BIG BOLD PRINT ON THE FRONT).

The biggest thing you have to remember is that in order to feel better and not feel like a failure all you have to do is have your home clean just once a day. Just once, even if only for twenty minutes in the morning. You'll know you did something and that is what matters. If Tony even "thinks" about complaining, take a picture when it's clean, show it to him, they say "hey, it was clean, shrug your shoulders and leave it at that".

almost forgot, I actually type out the list with specific days (same every single week) and post them on the fridge. I can't ever remember which day is which and I distract easily, so every time I go for a drink or get something for the kids I see it.
