Part of the problem is I'm one of those who has to have things written in stone or I don't do them. Like I clean the fish bowl on Sundays, if I don't do it on Sunday, I won't do it any other day either, because then I'll just have to do it again on Sunday anyway. But I would LOVE to be one of those SAHM's who keeps a nice clean house, who's husband comes home to a nice clean house every day.
So, basically what I need from you ladies, is...HOW Do you do it? Like do you have set days where you clean such and such and do such and such or do you just do a quick clean before DH gets home for the day or what? How do you keep the clutter from building up? We are SERIOUS clutterbugs. I don't think I've seen our entire dining table at once since we moved in to this apartment. No, really, I'm not exaggerating. Not to mention, ANYTHING within Kiersten's reach must immediately be disassembled as much as humanly possible.
Oh! I forgot. Tony. OMG Tony. My mom even commented on him when she was here. He's a slob. He will change a diaper and leave it sit wherever he changed Kiersten. He will make lunch and leave his wrappers, empty cans and eventually dirty dishes all over my counters. He will take off his clothes and drop them immediately, not even bothering to search for a hamper. He will walk right past a mess Kiersten made and keep on trucking. He will even walk right past a puddle Ginny made (if she hadn't been out in a long time for some reason) and keep on trucking, not even batting an eye! He will clean if I ask him to help but if I don't ask, he won't do a damn thing. His only real chores are to take out the trash and take care of the littermaid...yep, we even have a littermaid so he only has to attend to it about once a week....and he can't even manage that without being told. I mean, I could yell at him 'till my face turned blue and he'd fix his behavior for a week if that and then go right back to slobbing. We've done this for the last four years. Believe me, I know. He doesn't even mind inviting his friends and family over when the house is a mess, and he'll only think to pick up before they get there if I'm home and frantically scrambling around shouting orders at him to get @#%$ done before his family gets there!!!!
So, my questions are:
1. what is your daily routine, how do you keep your house clean on a daily basis?
2. how do you deal with the everyday clutter?
3. what do you leave for DH to do when he gets home from work (or do you just do it all)?
4. How do you deal with slobby DH's?
5. Does DH have any set "chores" that he does?
Here are a few pics, just so you can see what my house is like on a daily basis. These are just our two halls, but they're HALLS for Crying out loud! We don't even spend any TIME in them and they look like this! So you can easily use your imagination and determine how much worse the rest of the apartment is.
the first one is mostly that way 'cause Kiersten JUST pulled all that paper off the shelf, but don't be fooled, it probably didn't get cleaned up right away either, unless it was important paperwork, and my guess is it wasn't.

I've only seen (cept now, I don't have one) the tops of my dressers for about 10 minutes every once in a while. I leave it for my very LAST...if I feel like it room. However, make your bed every day right when you get up..oddly...you have a MUCH better day when you do it. (If Tony is in it TELL HIM TO DO IT WHEN HE GETS UP)
